I want to thank everyone that is helping me to appear on Television to get the message out about bullying! It is truly an epidemic. We all as a society need to combat this, we cannot standby any longer and do nothing. Whether you are a child or an adult you often witness bullying but don’t do anything.
Let’s RAISE our standards…
I would like for everyone who reads this to understand that the bystander has a role and he/she needs to step into that role. If you do not dare because you feel fearful not to belong to your group anymore if you help. Then, please think for one moment how the victim feels. I wish someone would of stepped in for me years ago! By moving physically closer to the victim we already change the dynamics of the situation. We can truly tell the bully that “it is NOT ok to do this”. The moment you do that you help the victim to lose its gripping fear of that moment and to feel ‘that he/she is not alone’ and the bully is too amazed that someone stood up to him/her.
What do you have to lose? Your standards are definitely lowered if you do not help1

Thank you! The bystander must help. Silence is complicity.
Move physically closer to the victim and two things will automatically happen:
1) the victim will lose it’s gripping fear
2) the bullier will lose it’s momentum and will not be able to continue
You as a bystander by just simply moving closer will have changed the entire dynamics of two people in total silence, but WITH ACTION & HEART
Too many cmoplimetns too little space, thanks!
Thank you for writing back Kris, the fact that you all take the time is great…
We can do so much without having to talk, but by enacting to stand closer to the victim!
